Hello! I’m David De’ Ath, founder and editor at Wonderful World English. With a background in journalism, I have been living and teaching English as a second language (ESL) in China since 2019.

Kurt Studer – Researcher, Manager, Writer, ESL Expert

Hi, I’m Kurt Studer, an experienced educator who has been teaching in China since 2012. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, and I always strive to deliver the highest quality classes with unwavering passion week after week.

Aside from my teaching experience, I have over seven years of experience as a language school manager. I firmly believe having well-educated and well-trained teachers is the key to a successful school or institution.

I am enrolled in the University of Nottingham’s M.A. TESOL program and am working towards passing the HSK6 (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), a Chinese language proficiency test.

I am dedicated to sharing the latest ESL methodology with visitors to our site and providing practical tips teachers can apply in the classroom.

I aim to help fellow educators enrich their teaching practice and achieve tremendous career success.

Emily Melville – Writer, Researcher, ESL Teacher

Hello, I’m Emily Melville, an English teacher from Oxford, U.K. Since doing my CELTA back in 2014, I have worked with students of all ages and levels from all over the world.

My teaching career has taken me to new places, including a brief teaching stint in the UAE and, most recently, in 2019, to the south of Spain, where I still reside.

Over the past year, I have also delved into the materials creation side of teaching, which has been a fantastic and exciting way to showcase my skills and experience as a teacher and create engaging and helpful material for fellow teachers and students to use in the classroom.

Alongside teaching, I also completed my bachelor’s degree in Language Studies, focusing on English’s history, grammar, and sociocultural aspects while studying Spanish as a foreign language.

I wouldn’t have learned the things I did without the support of fellow teachers who openly shared their best ideas, methods, and wisdom, and I am looking forward to being able to return the favor.
